Hi there!! My name is Katie Sullivan and I’ve been with Pulse since 2009!! That’s me in the picture above modeling one of our dresses back in the day when I first started. I’ll never forget when I was 16 and my dad told me I HAD to get a job. I’d heard of Pulse through my sister, so I walked in and asked if they were hiring. The rest is history. I started as a sales associate and now I do just about everything!

I was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. I have two sisters, with me being the youngest. After graduating from Parkway West High School, (I figured I would just throw that out there since it’s the classic St. Louis question!) I moved to New York City to pursue a degree in Fashion Merchandising Management from the Fashion Institute of Technology. After my two-year associates degree was complete, I missed my family and STL so much that I moved back home. Luckily, Pulse hired me again and I finished my schooling in 2015 with a bachelors degree from Fontbonne University in Fashion Merchandising.

Since then, I’ve absolutely loved increasing my responsibilities at Pulse. If you’re a Pulse shopper, chances are you’ve seen one of my posts on Facebook or Instagram, or received an email from me at one point or another! I write all the descriptions for our flash sale items and even create our emails.

In most recent news, on April 9, 2016 I married my husband Tim. He’s a chiropractor in South County, MO. He’s originally from Ohio, but as a born and bred St. Louisian, I was quick to convince him to stay here in STL! Next to fashion, I probably know the most about chiropractic just from hearing my husband and brother-in-law (who is also a chiropractor!) talk together.

Favorite food:I find it SO HARD to pick one favorite food! I would have to say my favorite meal would be steak, rice or potatoes, broccoli, and salad. But, I also have a huge sweet tooth for anything chocolate!

Guilty Pleasure: Binge-watching Netflix shows! I hate to admit this, but a couple years ago I watched 10 seasons of Grey’s Anatomy in 3 weeks! I’ve also watched all of The Office, Parks and Recreation, Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, The Hills, and probably others that I am forgetting!

Favorite TV Show: FRIENDS!! I can quote just about every line from every episode. For fun, my sisters and I enjoy quizzing each other on FRIENDS trivia!!

Favorite vacation spot: New Found Lake in Bristol, New Hampshire. My family has been going since before I was born! We’re planning another trip in summer of 2017.

Favorite Stores to Shop (Other than Pulse!): Nordstrom, Francesca’s

Favorite sports team: St. Louis Cardinals!! I am a huge baseball fan

Biggest fear: Snakes and Michael Myers!! If I have a nightmare, it’s about one of these two things. But, it still doesn’t stop me from watching the Halloween movies.

Favorite part about working at Pulse: The creative freedom and our loyal customers!

xo,

Katie

P.S- I really want to hear more about each ofย  you!! Reply in the comments section ๐Ÿ™‚

Katie’s Picks of the Week

I love this elbow patch top for many reasons. The number one reason is because it’s perfect for layering with vests!!! Whenever I open my closet and look for a top to pair with a vest I want to wear, I can never seem to find the right one. The elbow patches make it unique and add some cute detail.

A leopard flat might not seem like a basic but it really is! It can transform your outfit and let’s face it– it’s so much fun to wear a print flat than just a plain black one! I love wearing leopard flats with jeans and leggings. Plus, leopard looks great with my military vest and Trek olive jacket!

By now you’ve started to see ankle boots pop up in pretty much every store on the planet!! I’m always drawn to the high heel versions but they’re just not practical. If you’re running around, at work, or out and about, it makes much more sense to have a flat pair that is just as fashionable!! These slip ons will be my everyday shoes all season long.

Grey scale jeans are pretty one-of-a-kind. I like how they’re distressed and have holes but aren’t over the top. They still look classy! Plus, they will look fab with your leopard flats ๐Ÿ˜‰

Tune into our flash sale tonight at 9pm cst only on Facebook!
